According to the latest Field Poll regarding this year’s state Primary on June 3rd, 57 percent of likely voters back current Governor Jerry Brown (Democrat), 17 percent support Republican Assemblyman Tim Donnelly of Twin Peaks (San Bernardino County), 4 percent favor Andrew Blount, the Republican mayor of Laguna Hills (Orange County), and 3 percent are for Kashkari.

Kashkari has been getting plenty of attention from television, newspapers and other media, but it so far hasn’t been enough even to pull him past the little-known Blount.

According to the poll, registered Republicans gravitate toward Donnelly and his pro-gun, anti-illegal immigration and pro-life views.

SkyWest Airlines is ending its daily round-trip flights between Modesto and San Francisco on June 4th.

A Santa Monica High School teacher has been placed on leave after cellphone videos showed a fight with a student.

Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Superintendent Sandra Lyon sent a letter to parents Friday notifying them about the classroom confrontation.

In the letter, Lyon says the videos were “utterly alarming.”

School officials said Mark Black, who’s also a wrestling coach, was put on leave pending an investigation.

City News Service reports no one was injured in the fight. The student’s name has not been released.

Sam Tageson, a lifelong San Jose Sharks fan, was able to fulfill his dream Tuesday, as he signed a one-day contract with the team. The 17-year-old practiced with the team and skated through the shark head before San Jose’s game with the Florida Panthers.

According to the Contra Costa Times, Tageson was born with a heart condition called hypoplastic left heart syndrome, leaving him with only two heart chambers instead of four.

Last Thursday, KVML listeners were treated to a heated argument between talk show host Laura Ingraham (weekdays 3-6 PM) and Republican Congresswoman Renee Elmers of North Carolina.

Elmers slammed Ingraham for taking an “ignorant position” for opposing immigration reform. Ingraham appeared to have gotten under Elmers’ skin by repeatedly accusing her of spouting liberal talking points.

“I’m not going to take an ignorant position on this as you have on this issue,” Elmers said after explaining that farmers in North Carolina support reform.

“So it’s ignorant to follow the rule of law, to believe in an orderly process of immigration and to follow our sovereignty not our emotions?” Ingraham countered.

Elmers responded by telling Ingraham to get her “facts straight.”

“I have my facts straight, Congresswoman, believe me,” she fired back. “I’ve been working on this issue for about 10 years, and the American people are not with you. La Raza and Chuck Schumer are with you.”

As of this week, Elmers remains registered as a Republican and is running for re-election against a North Carolina “tea party” candidate.
